Recap: Zion Chapel Rebels vs. Pike Liberal Arts Patriots
The Zion Chapel Rebels won the last time they faced the Pike Liberal Arts Patriots, and things went their way on Friday too. Zion Chapel came out on top against Pike Liberal Arts by a score of 59-51. Given Zion Chapel's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Pike Liberal Arts is ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jacob Chestnut was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Slade Grantham was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Zion Chapel has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Pike Liberal Arts, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zion Chapel and New Brockton will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Pike Liberal Arts, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Luverne at 7:00 p.m.
