Softball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Houston County Fighting Irish. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 14-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2018.

Isabella Coon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavasia Buckley, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Houston County, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Coming up, Northwest will square off against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Houston County, they will take on Hickman County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
