Baseball Recap: Plainville Comes Up Short

Plainville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Maloney Spartans. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Plainville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Maloney, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainville will head out to square off against Guilford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maloney, they will venture away from home to take on RHAM at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
