Calvary West Christian took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Calvary Christian Academy Defenders 3-2. For the HUSKIES, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Defenders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Calvary West Christian was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 23-25, 27-25, 26-28, 25-21, 15-8.

Looking ahead, Calvary Christian Academy will venture away from home to square off against Job Corps at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary West Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Defenders' game: after the Defenders face off against Non Varsity Opponent, they'll take on Calvary West Christian again at 12:00 p.m. on September 13.
