River Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Lowry Buckaroos 4-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dust Devils also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.
Jaxon Bejerano looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, River Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremiah Putt, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Hunter Koehler was another, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Lowry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
River Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Holtville on the 27th. As for Lowry, they will take on Southwest EC in a tournament on Friday. The last three games Lowry has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
