Basketball Recap: Bucklin Beats Meade for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Bucklin won the last time they faced Meade, and Emmy Kirk did her part to make sure it happened again. The Bucklin Red Aces walked away with a 39-27 win over the Meade Buffaloes on Friday thanks in part to Kirk, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 20 points. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Bucklin, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Meade, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bucklin will venture away from home to square off against Minneola at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Minneola: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Bucklin has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Meade, they will head out to face off against Pawnee Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meade is facing Pawnee Heights at the right time seeing as Pawnee Heights is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
