Volleyball Recap: Paola Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Paola waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wamego Red Raiders.

Paola had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Berkley Meinig paced Paola's offense, picking up 12 kills. Meinig got some help from Kinzley Meinig and her 26 assists. Kinzley also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Caylee Crawford, each putting up two.

Despite the loss, Wamego saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marie McVay had 11 assists and seven digs.

Paola's victory bumped their record up to 26-8. As for Wamego, they dropped their record down to 15-22 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Paola will challenge Rock Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Wamego does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
