Basketball Game Preview: Spring Hill Panthers vs. Gilmer Buckeyes

Spring Hill and Gilmer are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Spring Hill Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Gilmer Buckeyes at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Spring Hill has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 28.

On Tuesday, Spring Hill was beaten by Chapel Hill 77-18. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1247th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 358th).

Meanwhile, Gilmer earned a 54-46 win over Cumberland Academy on Tuesday.

Spring Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 10-22. As for Gilmer, they pushed their record up to 12-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Spring Hill couldn't quite finish off Gilmer when the teams last played back in January and fell 43-40. Can Spring Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
