Volleyball Game Preview: Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars vs. Boyd County Spartans

Niobrara/Verdigre hasn't had much luck against Boyd County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will take on the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Niobrara/Verdigre will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Niobrara/Verdigre will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating North Central, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars came out on top against the Knights by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

The victory didn't come easy: North Central scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 25-23.

Boyd County hadn't beaten Ainsworth on the road since October 15, 2020 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Spartans walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bulldogs.

Niobrara/Verdigre's victory bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Boyd County, their win bumped their record up to 14-16.

Niobrara/Verdigre skirted past Boyd County 3-2 in their previous meeting on Friday. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Spartans' Claire Reiman, who had 27 digs and two aces.
