Softball Game Preview: Fair Grove Eagles vs. Sarcoxie Bears

The Fair Grove Eagles will square off against the Sarcoxie Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Fair Grove will be strutting in after a win while Sarcoxie will be coming in after a defeat.

Fair Grove is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Skyline, who was ranked first at the time (Fair Grove was ranked sixth). The Eagles skirted past the Tigers 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 9th.

Hali Stokes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Addyson Nunley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Sarcoxie came up short against Lamar on Friday, falling 24-10. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fair Grove has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sarcoxie, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Fair Grove got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Sarcoxie by a conclusive 12-4 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
