Rockdale hasn't had much luck against Rogers recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will welcome the Eagles. Rockdale's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Rogers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Rockdale is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Thrall on Friday. They fell 7-2 to Thrall.
Meanwhile, while Rogers put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Lexington. Rogers came out on top against Lexington by a score of 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 5, 2024, but that streak is no more.
Branson Charanza was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Charanza was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Rogers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Chris Howse looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
Charanza wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cash Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one double. That double marked the first that Smith has hit this season. Camryn Harper was another, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Rogers now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Rockdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8-2.
Rockdale suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Rogers in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
