Western Reserve hadn't done well against Maumee recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Roughriders walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Panthers. The win was nothing new for the Roughriders as they're now sitting on six straight.

Western Reserve didn't let Maumee take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23.

Emma Hammond paced Western Reserve's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hammond got some help from Jamie Muenz and her 25 assists. Hammond was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Western Reserve's record is now 9-3. As for Maumee, they dropped their record down to 6-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Western Reserve didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Edison on the 15th. As for Maumee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Oak Harbor on the 16th.
