Softball Recap: D.C. Everest Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

D.C. Everest hadn't done well against Stevens Point recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Evergreens were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Panthers. The win was just business as usual for the Evergreens, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

D.C. Everest let Mara Meverden and Brooke Brown run wild. Meverden scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Brown scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Taylor Freidel, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

D.C. Everest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stevens Point only posted a batting average of .143.

D.C. Everest's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Stevens Point, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, D.C. Everest will welcome Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Evergreens surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stevens Point, they will head out on the road to take on Neenah at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
