Baseball Recap: Kings Mountain Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Kings Mountain won the last time they faced Stuart W. Cramer and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mountaineers walked away with a 7-4 win over the Storm. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mountaineers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Wesley Turner made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. Kings Mountain is 2-1 when Turner allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Turner was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Jordan Buckner was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Luke Heavner was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and one run.

Kings Mountain's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they moved to 15-6 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Stuart W. Cramer will square off against Langtree Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Storm are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Kings Mountain will be paying especially close attention to Stuart W. Cramer's contest: after Stuart W. Cramer faces off against Langtree Charter Academy, they'll take on Kings Mountain again at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
