Soccer Game Preview: Chaparral vs. Vista Murrieta

Chaparral and Vista Murrieta are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Chaparral Pumas will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vista Murrieta Broncos at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Chaparral is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Chaparral didn't have quite enough to beat Murrieta Valley and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vista Murrieta). They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Murrieta Mesa on Friday. Considering the Broncos have won six games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Murrieta Mesa with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Markis Cavanaugh (2), Callum Carvetta (2), Sage Illescu (2), and Caeden Rush.

Vista Murrieta's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Chaparral, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1.

Chaparral came up short against Vista Murrieta when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Chaparral avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
