Volleyball Recap: Holy Cross' Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Holy Cross challenged Mercy on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 3-2. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Holy Cross took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 25-10, 15-8.

Brianne Stoff paced Holy Cross' offense, picking up 18 kills. Stoff got some help from Leah Evans and her 43 assists. Finally, Delaney Stoff kept Holy Cross' defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Holy Cross' defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-7. As for Mercy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will take on Kentucky Country Day at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mercy, they will face off against DuPont Manual at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
