Baseball Game Preview: Central Magnet vs. Apostolic Christian Academy Flames

Central Magnet will be taking part in a tournament against the Apostolic Christian Academy Flames at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Central Magnet will be strutting in after a win while Apostolic Christian Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Central Magnet proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Greenback 4-3.

Elijah Bonner was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Central Magnet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Apostolic Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-3 to Tellico Plains.

Apostolic Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Callaway Branam, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Apostolic Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Central Magnet, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
