Volleyball Recap: Elida Takes a Loss

Elida suffered their biggest loss since October 31, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Melrose Buffaloes, falling 3-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-12.

Shylynn Downey was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 12 digs and three aces.

Elida's defeat dropped their record down to 18-3. As for Melrose, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Elida is set to face off against their familiar foe Gateway Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Melrose will square off against rival Dora at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
