Basketball Game Preview: Scarborough Spartans vs. Northside Panthers

The Scarborough Spartans will head out to face off against the Northside Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Scarborough has struggled recently with 15 defeats in a row, while Northside will arrive with three straight wins.

Scarborough might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 79-9 to Yates, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside). They were the clear victor by a 59-33 margin over Furr on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted since November 11, 2024.

Northside pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points per game. As for Scarborough, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Scarborough was taken down by Northside 57-5 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can Scarborough avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
