Ashton Pena leads Brandeis to victory over Lee

Recap: Brandeis Broncos vs. Lee Volunteers

The Brandeis Broncos lost to the Lee Volunteers back in December of 2023, but the Brandeis Broncos didn't allow the Lee Volunteers the same satisfaction on Saturday. Brandeis came out on top against Lee by a score of 41-34. The win was all the more spectacular given Brandeis' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while Lee is ranked 168th).

Ashton Pena was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Short, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.

The victory makes it two in a row for Brandeis and bumps their season record up to 12-13. As for Lee, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9.

Brandeis will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Madison is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Lee, they will face off against Clark at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
