Wewahitchka's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-6 victory over the Vernon Yellowjackets. For the Gators, this counts as revenge for the 30-0 win the Yellowjackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Wewahitchka found their leader in sophomore Rhemy Patrick, who rushed for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries.

Wewahitchka now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Vernon, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Wewahitchka will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Bay Haven Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Vernon, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Chipley at 7:00 p.m.
