Softball Recap: Hackberry Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hackberry and Singer, and Hackberry kept the tradition alive. Hackberry came out on top against Singer by a score of 11-6 on Thursday. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 16-15 loss the last time these two teams met.

Calli Trahan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Hackberry let Harmony Bodie and Kynlin Moore run wild. Bodie went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Moore scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Sydni Boudreaux was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple and one double.

Hackberry's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Singer, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hackberry will venture away from home to face off against Starks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Singer, they will head out to square off against South Cameron at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Cameron has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.27 runs per game on average), something Singer will no doubt try to take advantage of.
