Baseball Game Preview: Moss Point Tigers vs. Sacred Heart Crusaders

The Moss Point Tigers will square off against the Sacred Heart Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Moss Point has struggled recently with 16 losses in a row, while Sacred Heart will arrive with ten straight wins.

Moss Point fell victim to Bay and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against Bay, falling 12-0.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart hadn't done well against Resurrection Catholic recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Crusaders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crusaders have posted since February 11th.

Sacred Heart got a massive performance out of Darren Brown, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Brown has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kyron Murphy, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Moss Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-19.

Moss Point skirted past Sacred Heart 7-6 in their previous matchup back in February. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
