Softball Game Preview: Carpinteria Warriors vs. Fillmore Flashes

Carpinteria hasn't had much luck against Fillmore recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Flashes at 3:30 p.m. Carpinteria has given up an average of 16.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Carpinteria lost 19-12 to Nordhoff on Tuesday. Even if the Warriors couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fillmore, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Hueneme on Tuesday.

Azaria Aguilar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. Aguilar was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Yesenia Hinojosa was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Arianna Halcon was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

Fillmore lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Carpinteria's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Fillmore, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
