Basketball Recap: Haleyville Comes Up Short

Haleyville won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They lost 93-70 to the Russellville Golden Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Golden Tigers are ranked 58th).

EJ King was his usual excellent self, putting up 37 points for Russellville. King's evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jah Williams was another key player, posting 22 points.

Haleyville moved to 12-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Russellville, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
