Softball Recap: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Sets Scoring Season-High Against Durham Academy

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Durham Academy Cavaliers, falling 17-7. One positive for the Spartans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Iyanna Scales made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Akirah Boldin, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's record now sits at 0-6. As for Durham Academy, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Coming up, Southern School of Energy and Sustainability will head out to square off against Durham School of the Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Durham School of the Arts has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19 runs per game on average), something Southern School of Energy and Sustainability will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Durham Academy, they will welcome Ravenscroft at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
