Volleyball Recap: Union City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Union City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Concord Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Union City ultimately came up short, they really made Concord work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-15, 25-21.

Lilie Vandenburg was the offensive standout of the match as she had four digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high.

Union City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Concord, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4-1.

Union City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Berrien Springs on the 13th. After both having extra time off, Concord and Maple Valley will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
