Baseball Recap: Woods Cross Takes a Loss

After flying high against Northwood on Monday, Woods Cross came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the San Dimas Saints by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Coleman Burbidge was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Woods Cross saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Moffat, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Woods Cross now has a losing record of 4-5. As for San Dimas, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Woods Cross has already played their next game, a 7-2 defeat against Canyon on the 2nd. As for San Dimas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-4 loss against Woodbridge on the 2nd.
