Basketball Recap: Edgar Deloera and Esteban Calderon Secure Win for Little Axe

After losing to Oklahoma City Knights HomeSchool the last time they met, Little Axe decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Little Axe Indians walked away with a 64-51 win over the Oklahoma City Knights HomeSchool Knights on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Little Axe was led to victory by Esteban Calderon and Edgar Deloera. Calderon went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and six assists, while Deloera posted 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Duke Kidder, who put up eight points.

Little Axe has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Oklahoma City Knights HomeSchool, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Little Axe will take on Davis in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oklahoma City Knights HomeSchool and Oklahoma F will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
