Softball Recap: Horizon Comes Up Short

If Horizon was riding high fresh off their 11-5 takedown of Mountain Pointe last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies came up short against the Chaparral Firebirds on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Firebirds recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Horizon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Nolen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Nolen's first of the season.

Horizon's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Chaparral, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 12-15.

While Horizon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
