Basketball Recap: Granville Extends Road Winning Streak to 19

Granville won against Newark Catholic last Thursday with 43 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Granville Blue Aces walked away with a 43-35 win over the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-39 back in January.

Granville pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points over those games. As for Mt. Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5.

Granville and Mt. Vernon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Granville (ranked 110th) will meet Cristo Rey (ranked 797th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Mt. Vernon will challenge Briggs at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th up 440 places (186 vs. 626).
