Baseball Recap: Prout Victorious

Prout's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the East Greenwich Avengers with a sharp 12-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Crusaders needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Prout let Dylan Delgado and Andrew Nowell run wild. Delgado went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Nowell went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Nowell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin McCoy, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Prout was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Prout's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for East Greenwich, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Prout wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-1 win against Toll Gate on the 18th. As for East Greenwich, they have also already played their next game, a 13-0 defeat against Barrington on the 19th.
