Softball Recap: Ransom Everglades Takes a Loss

Ransom Everglades was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 30-15 to the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions. Even though they lost, the Raiders' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Gianna Carvalho was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Rothfield, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Ransom Everglades always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Ransom Everglades' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Immaculata-La Salle, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ransom Everglades will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Immaculata-La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on April 1st. As for Immaculata-La Salle, they will challenge Marathon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Immaculata-La Salle has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
