The Rim of the World Fighting Scots will head out on the road to challenge the Arroyo Valley Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rim of the World has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Rim of the World is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They had just enough and edged out Fontana 12-11. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fighting Scots.
The team relied heavily on John Phillips, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jake Ristow was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rim of the World kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Arroyo Valley never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past Notre Dame 12-0.
Michael Rosas was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Reyes, who went 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Arroyo Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Rim of the World, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-10.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rim of the World hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Arroyo Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
