Basketball Recap: Cuthbertson's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Cuthbertson hadn't done well against Porter Ridge recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cuthbertson Cavaliers walked away with a 60-49 win over the Porter Ridge Pirates. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Pirates are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cuthbertson's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Porter Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Weddington the next time they take the court. Cuthbertson will head out to face Weddington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Porter Ridge will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
