Armstrong (Kennedy) strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They really took it to the Goochland Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 35-7 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won three contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Armstrong (Kennedy) got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shadarus Pickett out in front who rushed for 155 yards and one TD on only 15 carries. It was truly a group effort as Xzaiveer Jones, Aladin Simms, and Isaiah Charity picked up one apiece. Simms is also crushing it when it comes to defended passes: he's defended at least one every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Armstrong (Kennedy)'s victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Goochland, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Armstrong (Kennedy) will venture away from home to square off against King William at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goochland, they will challenge Orange County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
