Basketball Recap: Rex Reiser Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Cumberland Christian Home Educators

Providence Athletic Club was handed a 28-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cumberland Christian Home Educators Hawks 52-50. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 56-48 loss the last time these two teams met.

Providence Athletic Club's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rex Reiser, who posted nine points. What's more, Reiser posted two assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ross Hudson, who had seven points and eight rebounds.

Cumberland Christian Home Educators' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Coleman, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Coleman is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted three or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Drew, who scored 14 points and eight rebounds.

The win got Providence Athletic Club back to even at 14-14. As for Cumberland Christian Home Educators, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 24-15 record.

Providence Athletic Club has already played their next contest, a 67-48 victory against Summit Christian Academy on the 5th. As for Cumberland Christian Home Educators, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 75-51 defeat against South Wake on the 5th.
