Football Recap: University School Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for University School's offense. They were dealt a 28-0 defeat at the hands of the Chaney Cowboys on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, the Preppers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Dewayne Thompsom had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 126 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries for Chaney. Those 126 rushing yards gave Thompsom a new career-high. Allen Hill Jr got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

University School's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Chaney, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Coming up, University School will host St. Charles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Preppers will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Chaney, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on East at 12:00 p.m. on the 25th.
