Baseball Game Preview: Laytonville Warriors vs. Tomales Braves

The Laytonville Warriors will head out to challenge the Tomales Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Laytonville has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while Tomales will arrive with three straight wins.

Victory Christian Academy hit Laytonville with a seven-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-3.

Meanwhile, Tomales made easy work of Roseland Collegiate Prep on Friday and carried off an 11-1 victory.

Jorge Lopez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Tomales is 2-1 when Lopez posts three or more hits, but 4-6 otherwise.

Laytonville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Tomales, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Laytonville suffered a grim 30-3 defeat to Tomales in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
