Baseball Recap: Tate Comes Up Short

Tate and Fletcher squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Tate had to settle for second. They lost 8-0 to the Senators. The Aggies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Senators earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Tate got a good showing from Sheppard Edgar, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Edgar has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Tate has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season. As for Fletcher, their record now sits at 16-9-1.

While Tate had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
