Basketball Recap: Jones Comes Up Short

Jones was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 68-24 loss at the hands of the Northside - Pinetown Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-25 back in January.

Northside - Pinetown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Jane Cahoon, who went 5-for-8 en route to 14 points. Cahoon is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Keniyah Whitley, who posted ten points and three steals.

Jones' loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Northside - Pinetown, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1.

Jones has already played their next matchup, a 63-29 defeat against Pamlico County on the 7th. As for Northside - Pinetown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-14 win against Lejeune on the 7th.
