Baseball Game Preview: El Diamante Miners vs. Paso Robles Bearcats

The El Diamante Miners will head out on the road to challenge the Paso Robles Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Diamante is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

El Diamante saw some tournament action on Monday. They fell 9-6 to Dos Pueblos.

Noah Pena was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Jesus Salazar was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Paso Robles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Millikan.

Paso Robles also got a good showing from Ethan Rendon, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Rendon has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Paso Robles saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braydon Hoier, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

El Diamante's record is now 7-10-1. As for Paso Robles, their record now sits at 6-10.

El Diamante beat Paso Robles 4-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. Will the Miners repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
