Football Recap: Issaquah Eagles vs. Olympia Bears
After flying high against Tahoma last Friday, Issaquah came back down to earth. The Issaquah Eagles took a 22-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olympia Bears. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2015.
Loss or not, Issaquah got some senior leadership from Blake Blumenthal and Will Vaughn. Blumenthal picked up 141 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Vaughn threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns.
Issaquah's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Olympia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Issaquah will head out to challenge Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Olympia, they will be playing at home against Hazen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
