Baseball Recap: Poland's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Poland and Mountain Valley pushed the score to 24-11 the last time they played Mountain Valley, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Knights never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Poland secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Lucas Verrill, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. That hit was Verrill's first of the season.

The win got Poland back to even at 3-3. As for Mountain Valley, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Poland will host Greely at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mountain Valley, they will head out to take on Oak Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
