Baseball Recap: Matawan Regional Comes Up Short

Matawan Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shore Regional Blue Devils. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2017.

Matawan Regional's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Shore Regional, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4.

While Matawan Regional had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
