Soccer Recap: Richland Finds Home Pitch Redemption Against Denton

There's no place like home for Richland, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They beat the Denton Broncos by a goal, winning 2-1. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Broncos are ranked 388th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lauren Guzman and Logan Holloway scored both of Richland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Richland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those seven matches. As for Denton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-6-2.
