Baseball Recap: Richmond Senior Takes a Loss

West Stanly hit Richmond Senior with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders fell just short of the Colts by a score of 7-6. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Colts: they've now lost four in a row.

Caden Nolan and Julius Bowden stepped up to the plate in a big way. Nolan went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Bowden went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Richmond Senior's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for West Stanly, they pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Richmond Senior and West Stanly should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Raiders (ranked 78th) will meet Hoke County (ranked 266th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Stanly will face off against Central Academy of Technology & Arts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (11 vs. 396).
