Baseball Recap: San Jacinto Sets Scoring Season-High Against El Cajon Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Jacinto). They blew past the El Cajon Valley Braves 13-0 on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

The team relied heavily on TJ. Langie, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Johnny Bonilla, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

San Jacinto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

San Jacinto is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for El Cajon Valley, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coming up, San Jacinto will take on Jurupa Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for El Cajon Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Santana at 4:00 p.m. on the 24th.
