Baseball Recap: Fayette Ware Drops Highest Score of Season Against Bolton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fayette Ware). They blew past Bolton 19-4 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for Fayette Ware as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Angel Hernandez made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Fayette Ware got a big performance out of Cooper Dennie, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Dennie has posted since back in April of 2024. Jared Stewart was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Fayette Ware always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .815. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fayette Ware's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Bolton, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Fayette Ware will be playing at home against Millington Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bolton, they will venture away from home to square off against Memphis Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
