Softball Game Preview: Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs vs. Atlantic Coast Stingrays

The Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs will head out to take on the Atlantic Coast Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Flagler Palm Coast was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Beachside 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Barracudas: they've now won three in a row.

Skylar Ludovici was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Ludovici was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Ludovici wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie West, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Atlantic Coast nor Fernandina Beach made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Stingrays had just enough and edged out the Pirates 4-2.

Lily Maguire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Stella Lynton was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Emma Cano was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Flagler Palm Coast's record now sits at 6-15. As for Atlantic Coast, their record is now 20-5.

Flagler Palm Coast might still be hurting after the 17-4 loss they got from Atlantic Coast in their previous matchup on Monday. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
